How We help

Personal advice with a clear purpose

Bloomsbury Consultancy provides general strategic and practical advice throughout serious and sensitive situations. We agree our role at the outset and review it as circumstances develop.

Understanding the position

We begin by understanding your circumstances and reviewing the agreed material. We organise the relevant information, identify uncertainties and establish what requires immediate attention.

Where specialist questions arise, we help you identify the appropriate expertise and prepare the issues for discussion.

Preparing for important decisions

An investigation or allegation may prompt difficult conversations with lawyers, agents, management, sponsors or other people whose decisions affect your future.

We help you clarify your objectives, organise the relevant information and prepare questions. Our advice considers the practical consequences across your professional and private circumstances.

Substantive advice and preparation for formal interviews or proceedings remain with your appointed legal or specialist advisers.

Maintaining a coherent response

As new information emerges, priorities can change. Bloomsbury Consultancy remains involved to help you reassess the situation and follow through on agreed actions.

With your authority, we facilitate discussions with other advisers and prepare concise briefings where useful. You retain direct access to your specialists and control over appointments and decisions.

Matter-Specific Advisory

A defined engagement concerning a particular allegation, investigation or disciplinary matter.

The work may address an immediate decision, a distinct stage or a series of agreed phases. We confirm the scope, responsibilities, fee and any relevant limitations in writing before substantive work begins.

Where circumstances change materially, any additional work is discussed and agreed separately.

Ongoing Private Advisory

A continuing relationship for individuals who value having an adviser already familiar with their circumstances when a sensitive issue arises.

Ongoing advisory arrangements provide scheduled contact, an agreed allowance of work and a defined response commitment. The appropriate arrangement depends on the level of contact and reserved capacity required.

  • Private Advisory

    • One scheduled discussion each month.

    • Up to four hours of work per month.

    • A personal response within three working days.

  • Priority Advisory

    • Fortnightly scheduled discussions.

    • Up to eight hours of work per month.

    • A personal response within one working day.

Both arrangements include an agreed monthly allowance. Scheduled discussions, reading, preparation, calls and correspondence count towards that allowance. Unused hours do not roll over.

Substantial new matters are separately scoped, and additional work requires approval. Specialist fees and approved expenses are separate.

Response commitments relate to communication and do not constitute an emergency service or guarantee that substantive work can be completed within the response period.

Fees & Engagements

Clear terms, agreed in advance

Every engagement begins with a discussion of your circumstances, the work required and the basis on which we will work together.

Fees are provided privately and confirmed in writing before substantive work begins.

Matter-Specific Advisory engagements are priced according to the agreed scope and complexity of the work, with fees confirmed by phase where appropriate.

Ongoing Private Advisory and Priority Advisory are subject to an agreed monthly fee, payable in advance. Both arrangements have an initial three-month term, followed by monthly renewal, with termination on 30 days’ notice in accordance with the engagement terms.

Additional work requires approval before it begins. Specialist fees and approved expenses are separate from Bloomsbury Consultancy's fees.

We will discuss your requirements before recommending an arrangement. There is no obligation to proceed following an initial conversation.
