Established in 2018 by a Barrister, Bloomsbury Consultancy is an independent strategic advisory firm providing trusted advice to high-profile individuals and professional teams.

Our work is rooted in a legal background, but our role extends beyond traditional legal advice. We help clients make sense of complex situations where legal, commercial, reputational and personal considerations intersect — providing an independent perspective on what matters, what is at stake and what should happen next.

We work with clients across a wide range of circumstances, from important decisions and new opportunities to sensitive disputes, investigations and developing situations. Our involvement is tailored to the needs of each client and may include strategic advice, decision-making support, coordinating specialist expertise or helping navigate a matter from beginning to resolution.

We do not seek to replace your existing professional advisers. We work alongside them, bringing together the right expertise and ensuring that individual pieces of advice are considered as part of the wider picture.

At the heart of Bloomsbury Consultancy is independent judgement, practical advice and discretion. We take the time to understand our clients, their objectives and what is at stake — then provide the perspective and support needed to move forward with confidence.

WORKING WITH YOUR ADVISERS

Keep your advisers. We help you see the full picture.

Your lawyers, agents, managers, PR advisers, accountants and other specialists each do different jobs. We work alongside them when a situation crosses those areas.

We keep your goals in view while your advisers do their jobs.

HOW WE WORK

We start with the whole picture.

No two situations are the same. We begin by understanding the situation in full — what has happened, what you are trying to achieve, what is at stake and what may happen next. From there, we identify the issues that require attention and determine where Bloomsbury Consultancy can add the most value.

01

Understand

We take the time to understand the circumstances, your objectives and the wider context.

This may mean reviewing information and correspondence, speaking with you and your existing advisers, or simply giving you the space to explain what is happening. Our first priority is to establish the facts and understand what matters to you.

02

Assess

We then step back and consider the bigger picture.

We identify the key issues, potential risks, opportunities and competing considerations. Where appropriate, we test different courses of action and help you understand the implications of each.

The aim is not to overwhelm you with information. It is to establish what actually matters and what needs to happen next.

03

Advise

We provide clear, independent advice based on our assessment.

Our advice is practical and focused on decision-making. We explain the available options, the advantages and risks of each, and recommend a sensible way forward.

Our advice is always focused on your best interests and on helping you make informed decisions. We do not expect you to be a passive onlooker: we involve you throughout the process, explain the available options clearly and ensure that your priorities, concerns and objectives remain central to the way forward.

04

Bring in the right expertise

Complex situations rarely sit within one area of expertise.

Where a situation requires additional support, we work alongside your existing advisers or help identify the appropriate specialist expertise. This may include lawyers, accountants, investigators, PR advisers, agents, managers or other specialists.

Our role is to help ensure that the right people are involved and that their advice is considered as part of the wider picture.

05

Stay involved

Our involvement does not necessarily end once advice has been given.

Depending on the nature of the engagement, we can remain involved as circumstances develop — helping you assess new information, coordinate advisers, respond to changing circumstances and consider the next decision.

For clients who require an ongoing relationship, our Private Retainer provides continued access to Bloomsbury Consultancy when important matters arise.

One objective

We work in your best interests by understanding the full situation, explaining the available options clearly and ensuring that your priorities, concerns and objectives remain central to the way forward.

We provide the independent perspective, bring the right expertise together and stay focused on helping you make informed decisions with confidence.

MEET THE FOUNDER

A steady hand when it matters.

At the heart of Bloomsbury Consultancy is its founder — a Barrister whose career has been built around complex situations, demanding environments and people facing consequential decisions.

More than a decade of experience across criminal law, international law, sports law and human rights has developed an instinct for detail and, just as importantly, for people. He listens closely, asks the right questions and quickly separates what is important from what is simply noise.

That approach extends beyond the advice itself. He takes a personal interest in the clients he works with and remains closely involved in the matters entrusted to Bloomsbury Consultancy. He understands that managing a complex situation is not only about getting the analysis right; it is about managing people, expectations and competing demands along the way.

Around that approach, he has built a formidable team of professionals with complementary expertise. Each matter is carefully considered, the right people are brought together and the work remains under his direction and oversight.

The result is a service built around close attention, sound judgement and personal responsibility — giving clients confidence that their matter is understood, their interests are being looked after and nothing important is being overlooked.

When the stakes are high, experience matters. So does having someone who stays close to the detail.
